Here's a recipe for a Turkey Dinner:
- 1 12-14 lb turkey, thawed if frozen
- 1/4 cup All Natural Rendered Duck Fat
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, smashed
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 lemon, quartered
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper
- Your choice of herbs and spices (e.g. thyme, rosemary, sage)
Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
Remove the neck and giblets from the turkey cavity and set aside for making gravy later.
Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Season the turkey inside and out with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs and spices.
Stuff the turkey cavity with the onion, garlic, carrots, celery, and lemon.
Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wings under the body.
Rub the All Natural Rendered Duck Fat all over the outside of the turkey.
Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add the chicken broth to the bottom of the pan.
Cover the turkey with foil and roast in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the turkey reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to brown the skin.
Let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
Serve with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.
Enjoy your delicious Turkey Dinner!
